A Beginner’s Guide to Hillwalking in Southwest Ross By Ian Oxton gallery HOME

The Guide represents a determined attempt to encourage and assist the less-experienced hillwalker to explore the hills in this area. It was written with safety as the foremost concern and concentrates on expeditions to hills with well-defined paths, allowing a safe retreat in the event of any abrupt change in weather - not an unusual occurrence in  the Northwest Highlands. The twelve chosen walks are carefully graduated in length and difficulty from the very straightforward to a couple of outings taking in more than one Munro. The Guide is produced in a format suitable  to withstand the weather (chemically treated) and of a size to fit in the pocket.
